My story

Falling, rising,
and finally understanding better.

From Belgium to Colombia, from burnout to building a business that fits how I'm wired. This is the journey that brought me here, and why I do what I do today.

My neurodivergence is sometimes confusing, exhausting and often overwhelming. But above all it is something deeply powerful for me. A story of falling and rising, but when I stand, I stand all the way.

Understanding my neurodivergence better helps me today become the woman I always looked up to as a young girl and as a student. Without fully realizing it, I was inspired from a young age by people who are just a little different. Today everything in that becomes so much clearer.

We live in a world built for neurotypical brains. And for years I tried to adapt to a norm that didn't feel like me at all.

It is only recently that I received the autism and giftedness diagnoses. A new world opened for me. A world that allowed me to understand and accept so much more, and where I could make space to improve my mental health.

That understanding also gave me the courage to build a life on my own terms. Today I split my life between Belgium and Colombia, build my business online, and work with nomads and entrepreneurs worldwide who recognize that same feeling: the standard playbook was never written for us.

Two worlds

Belgium & Colombia,
one mission.

My life moves between two worlds. The structure and roots of Belgium, where I grew up, studied, and built my professional foundation. And the warmth, space and freedom of Colombia, where I chose to build a new chapter on my own terms.

Belgium - where it started

Where I studied International Business Management, built years of experience in marketing and communication, and where the Prikkel Praat podcast was born. Belgium is my home base, my professional roots, and the market I serve in Dutch through the podcast and local workshops.

Colombia - where I chose freedom

A conscious choice to build a life that fits how I'm wired, not against it. From here I mentor nomads and entrepreneurs worldwide in English, build community, and keep proving that a different way of living and working is not only possible, sometimes it works better.

The podcast

Prikkel Praat
my own journey, answers for all of us

I host Prikkel Praat, a Flemish podcast about neurodivergence. In it I talk with experts and people with lived experience about ADHD and other neurodivergences, in Dutch, for the Belgian market.

My own search for answers and insights about myself is the foundation of the conversations. I share that journey with a wider audience because I want to give recognition, insight and a touch of humor to people who are wired a little differently.

The podcast is rooted in Belgium and in the Dutch language. Internationally I bring the same lived experience, the same mission, and the same voice, through mentoring, workshops and keynotes in English, tailored to nomads and entrepreneurs worldwide.

Why I started

"I share my journey with a wider audience because I want to give recognition, insight and a touch of humor to people who are wired a little differently, or curious about neurodiversity in general. I believe everyone deserves answers, and those answers don't always have to be negative or bad."

Shannon Van den Borre, host Prikkel Praat

More than one thing

Multipassionate & diverse expertise

I'm not someone who limits herself to one thing. My broad interests and deep knowledge across multiple domains make me unique. This is my DNA: creative, unique, innovative and driven by meaning.

Creativity & innovation

I studied International Business Management where I discovered that creativity is my passion. Thanks in part to my neurodivergence I can think fast and come up with innovative solutions and concepts.

Marketing, communication & organization

After my studies I built expertise through years of practical experience in these domains. Being creative is not just work, it's my lifestyle at home and professionally.

Inclusion, diversity & neurodiversity

A growing involvement with injustice led to a natural commitment to inclusion and diversity. Alongside the podcast I build deep knowledge in these fields.

How I work

My approach &
philosophy

💜

Lived experience

I've been exactly where you are. Building a business while my brain works differently. Running multiple passions. Trying to force myself into systems that don't fit. This is not theory. This is lived.

🌱

Inner leadership first

Before strategy, before systems, before anything else: you lead yourself. You figure out how you actually work. Then you build from there. Not the other way around.

🛠️

Practical tools

Reflection, experiments and concrete tools. Not just talk, but action. Workbooks, templates, and frameworks you can use again and again. Small steps that create real change.

⚡

Your brain is not broken

Working with your neurodivergent brain, your autistic processing style, or your multipassionate nature isn't a bug to fix. It's how you're built. We learn to work with it, not against it.

My values

What I stand for.

Authenticity

No masks, no forcing yourself into a norm that doesn't fit you. Honesty is the foundation of everything I do.

Lived experience

I don't talk about neurodivergence from a textbook. I live it every day. Autistic, ADHD, highly sensitive and gifted.

Recognition & connection

People who are wired a little differently deserve a place where they are seen, heard and understood.

Honest & with humor

Heavy topics can be light too. I share my journey with a touch of humor because that helps as well.

"Via spotify op Shannon haar website terecht gekomen; heel toegankelijke informatie over materie die zwaar kan binnenkomen indien er ruimte zou zijn voor interpretatie. Dit dus niet bij haar voor mij, daarom ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
